Agricultural Reinvention

Live Culture consults to farms and agricultural producers with innovative business-based solutions to assist them in developing higher-margin products and revenue streams and engage people in agriculture by presenting it in new contexts.

Case Study: Agriturismo Luxe

Jose Ignacio on the coast of Uruguay is a luxury hotspot for people from across South America. It is also right on the edge of endless miles of incredible pasture where gauchos have been naturally farming high-quality sustainable beef for generations. Live Culture is consulting to a new resort and development that brings these two sides of Uruguay together: a productive ranch that offers unique agritourism programs ranging from learning to produce fresh soft cheeses to figuring out how to cut your own steaks. The natural bounty of the region is enhanced on the property with biodynamic farming practices, making the farm’s produce some of the best in the country. Scheduled to open in 2012, the resort will feature year-round agricultural tourism.

Case Study: Hopland Renewal

On a spectacular property in the historic heart of Mendocino county, a group of passionate people is working to develop a vibrant and profitable farm with three distinct profit centers: food products, agritourism and wine sales. The farm and hotel has a long and varied history, and its new owners want to build it into a hub for forward-looking work in food. Live Culture is developing the programs and plans with the client, and is partnering to develop the project’s business and implementation plan for a proposed launch date of Autumn 2010.

Case Study: Belgian, But Better

Rich Collins of California Vegetable Specialties approached Live Culture in 2009 to help his company rethink its product strategy and help tell a more compelling story of his farm’s roots and philosophy via its product. Live Culture worked with the buyers, advocates, and community around the client to develop a plan at a brand and product level to reinvent the farm’s primary product: California endives.
